STATEMENT

My sculpture work aims to shine a light and celebrate the individuals that have stood up against an oppressive government mainly focused on African American activists. Using accessible images off the internet, editing then engraving them on 6mm MDF plywood and tinted red Perspex. The reason I have chosen to showcase my work as series of sculptures is because of a recurring element in my research where one individual says "enough is enough". My work is a celebration of how far we as race have come to eradicating racism and discrimination specifically in relation to the Police shootings of African American citizens.
